(1) Matthew 27: 27-31, Then the governor's soldiers took Jesus into thePraetorium and gathered the whole company of soldiers around him. Theystripped him and put a scarlet robe on him, and then twisted together acrown of thorns and set it on his head. They put a staff in his right handand knelt in front of him and mocked him, "Hail, king of the Jews!"they said. They spit on him, and took the staff and struck him on the headagain and again. After they had mocked him, they took off the robe andput his own clothes on him. Then they led him away to crucify him.

700 years later

(2) Matthew 8:15,16 He touched her hand and the fever left her, and shegot up and began to wait on him. when evening came, many who were demon-possessedwere brought to him and he drove out the spirits with a word and healedall the sick.

(3) Matthew 17: 12-14 When he was accused by the chief priests and theelders, he gave no answer.Then Pilate asked him, don't you hear the testimonythey are bringing against you? But Jesus made no reply, not even to a singlecharge- to the great amazement of the govenor.

(4) Matthew 27: 15-26 Now it was the govenor's custom at the Feast to releasea prisoner chosen by the crowd. At the time they had a notorious prisoner,called Barabbas. So when the crowd had gathered, Pilate asked them, "which one do you want me to release to you: Barabbas, or Jesus who is calledChrist?" For he knew it was out of envy that they had handed Jesusover to him. While Pilot was sitting on the judge's seat, his wife senthim this message, "Don't have anything to do with that innocent man,for I have suffered a great deal today in a dream because of him. But thechief priests and the elders persuaded the crowd to ask for Barabbas andto have Jesus executed.

(5) Matthew 27: 57-60 As evening approached, there came a rich man fromArimathea, named Joseph, who had himself become a disciple of Jesus. Goingto Pilate, he asked for Jesus' body, and Pilate ordered that it be givento him, Joseph took the body, wrapped it in a clean linen cloth, and placedit in his own new tomb that he had cut out of the rock. He rolled a bigstone in front of the entrance to the tomb and went away.

(6) 1 Peter 2:22 He committed no sin, and no deceit was found in his mouth.

(7) Acts 13: 38, 39 Therefore, my brothers, I want you to know that throughJesus, the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you. Through him, everyonewho believes is justified from everything you could not be justified fromby the law of Moses.
