The Center for Quality Management (CQM), headquartered in Cambridge, MA, is an international non-profit organization that works with its member companies to study and implement cutting-edge management practices.  Simply stated, CQM helps companies to work better. 

 

cheap hotels in La RocheEach year, CQM hosts CEOs from major corporations at its Annual Meeting and Senior Executive Workshop.  In 2003, for example, the meeting focused on The New Meaning of Business Leadership with notable speakers from Stanford University, MIT, Boston College, respected authors on various management practices, and business leaders from around the country an event worth documenting for future reference.

 

For the past 10 years, CQM has relied on Alta Vision to videotape these meetings for members who cannot attend and to archive as a learning resource. 

 

When documenting an event, the tape must be easy to watch and hear, said Eric Bergemann, CQM Director of Business Operations.  Having tried to do this in a home brew fashion, I can say that Alta Vision does a professional job.  My experience in working with the Alta Vision crew is that we need very little discussion.  Once I tell them what were doing, I know the event will be taped properly and in a non-obtrusive way.

 

Each Annual Meeting is an all day event, requiring seven hours of taping, extensive, careful editing and a finished product resulting in four final event tapes.

 

Videotaping an event is not just a matter of pointing a camera at the speaker, said Bill McGowan, Alta Vision President, the viewer needs to be engaged by the visuals as well as the audio quality.  Most importantly, this cannot be accomplished at the expense of attendees.
