| Company History of Haslam's Welcome to the wonderful world of Haslam's Miniatures! For those of you who have not had the opportunity to visit us in person, we are one of the largest and most complete dollhouse and miniature shops in the USA. Haslam's has been an institution in Sarasota, Florida for over 21 years. Originally opened in 1976, it was quickly purchased by Howard and Larissa Green, who owned it until 1994. In May of 1994, I walked into Haslam's for the very first time, took one look around,And asked the gentleman if he was the owner. When he replied yes, I told him I was buying his shop. I said I didn't care if he wanted to sell in two months or two years, as soon as he was ready, I was going to buy his shop. His reply was "How about September?" The rest, as they say is history. I bought the shop and started to drastically increase the inventory, mostly with artisan pieces, continuing the fine reputation that Howard and Larrisa Green had already established Surprisingly, within a very shot time, I had outgrown the very small shop. In July of 1996, I moved into our present location. Haslam's now has twice the space, and needless to say, I continued to increase the inventory, until, at present, it is about ten times larger than the original inventory of the first owner. Most people who visit here are totally overwhelmed. Not only are they overwhelmed by the size of my inventory, but also by the number of fine artisan pieces. I am constantly being told that there is no way anyone could see it all, even if they stayed all day. They ask if I have a catalog to take home and view at their leisure. Unfortunately it is nearly impossible to print a color catalog of so many artisan pieces, as it would be obsolete before it even got to the printers! With the advent of the Internet, it now becomes possible to update a catalog almost continually. The catalog will start with a few hundred photos, with more photos being added weekly.
