TECHNICIAN/NONCOMMERCIAL APPLICATOR TRAINING PROVIDER PACKET

 

To Whom It May Concern:

Thank you for your inquiry concerning course requirements for sponsoring aStructural Pest Control Board (SPCB) approved Technician/Noncommercial TrainingCourse. This course is a prerequisite for persons taking the SPCB technicianexams and for some persons not otherwise qualified to take the certifiednoncommercial applicator exams. Section 593.21(I)(1) of the SPCB regulationsindicates this course is to be in the "General Category." Therefore, acourse must contain as a minimum the material presented in the StructuralPesticide Applicator Training General Manual produced by the TexasAgricultural Extension Service (TAEX). The chapters of that manual are asfollows:

Ch. 9 Pesticide Poisoning & First Aid

Ch. 10 Integrated Pest Management

Ch. 11 Pests

Ch. 12 Types of Pesticides

Ch. 13 The Label

Ch. 14 Formulations

Ch. 15 Filling & Mixing Practices

Ch. 16 Calculations for Mixing Pesticides

Ch. 17 Equipment

Ch. 18 Calibration

Ch. 19 Weather-wise Application

Ch. 20 Disposal

Ch. 21 Storage

Ch. 22 Record Keeping & Liability

Sponsors and instructors are encouraged to include additional materials andinformation. Methods of instruction may include (but are not limited to)lecture, slides, slide/tape, video, demonstration, and workbooks. The coursemust include a minimum of 6 hours of actual instruction time.

Instructor qualifications are those found in section 593.24 (b) of the SPCBRegulations for recertification course speakers:

(b) The minimum requirements to qualify as a speaker, course presenter orself-study course provider are:

    1. a degree from a recognized institution of higher learning which pertains to the course being taught; or
    2. five years experience as an applicator certified by the Structural Pest Control Board with a current license in the specialty to be taught; or
    3. verifiable proof of training and teaching experience within the preceding three years; or
    4. a combination of education, work related training, and teaching experience which, in the opinion of the Board, would be equivalent to two of the three requirements as previously stated.

Each Technician/Noncommercial Applicator Course submitted for approval shallbe accompanied by the following information:

Arlandastad hoteles1) The Sponsors name, address, telephone number and company, organization,or institution of higher learning affiliation;

2)    The course outline including method of instruction andapproximate time devoted to each subject;

3)    A copy of any handout material (excluding the TAEXGeneral Manual);

4)    A sample copy of the Certificate of Completion toinclude:

  1. The type of training
  2. Name of the participant
  3. Name of the sponsor
  4. Date and location of training event
5)    The name and qualifications of each speaker to include aresume with the following information (resume may be omitted if previouslyapproved as a speaker for recertification courses):
  1. Formal education-degrees held and granting institutions
  2. Industry-related technical experience which relates to the subject matter to be taught
  3. Industry-related teaching experience which relates to the subject matter to be taught;
  4. Address and telephone number of at least three references;
  5. Membership in trade associations and/or professional organizations
  6. Publications as sole or junior author.

baccarat regelnThe sponsor is responsible for establishing a system such as asign-in-sign-out roster, which verifies that participants attended the trainingprogram throughout its stated length. The sponsor must maintain coursecompletion records for two years.

luxury hotels in Santiago de CompostelaThe Board must be notified, by the sponsor, as to the time and place of anycourse presentation at least 14 days prior to giving the course. A list ofparticipants shall be forwarded to the Board within 14 days of completion of thetraining course. Personnel of the Texas Structural Pest Control Board are exempt from any feecharged for a program if they are monitoring the program as a part of the dutiesof their employment.
