Cable subscribers can "surf the net" to find out about programming available to them through Your Cable Company . You can read movie reviews, see previews, get listing and channel information, run video clips, hear sound bites, get background information on the stars, and peruse story lines and plots. All of this information will help you make educated Pay Per View ordering decisions. Internet ordering is a convenience -- you don't have to disconnect from the Internet to order the event over the telephone or through your TV converter. You can order right over the Internet. ERROR MSGWhere the Pay Per View programs are viewed: While you order Pay Per View over the internet, you do not view the event on your computer. You watch it on your regular TV set equipped with an Your Cable Company addressable converter or Digital Cable Service. The "Passcode" -- Why you need it: One way Your Cable Company accesses your cable account records is through your telephone number. When you make a telephone call to order Pay Per View, your telephone number (always encoded in the telephone signal by the phone company) is automatically read as a means of identifying "who wants to order". By entering your telephone number on the Internet Ordering Form, we can identify your account. However, unlike a telephone call (where the telephone company sends us your phone number) anyone can type your phone number onto the Internet form. Therefore, for security reasons, in addition to your telephone number, we require you to enter a "Passcode" (six (6) digits) that you make up and only you know. When you make that call we will also let you enter a six (6) digit passcode (that you make up) using the buttons on your telephone. After that, you use the same Passcode for every Pay Per View order. If you forget your Passcode or want to change it call the registration number again, the last Passcode you enter is the one that will work. Also, it takes only seconds for your passcode to go from the telephone to the Internet, so you'll be able to order almost right away after you register. It is most commonly a form of parental control. If you currently use a PIN number to order Pay Per View, you must also use it with Internet ordering in addition to the Passcode.
