CUSTOMER SERVICE PRINCIPLES In carrying out our mission to protect public health andthe environment, We will be courteous, professional, flexible, honest andhelpful in all dealings with our customers. We will actively listen so we canbetter anticipate the needs of our customers and how we can best provide theproducts, services and information they value, and be fully responsive tocustomer concerns regarding our services. We will answer all telephone calls promptly, and willrespond to them that day or by the close of the next business day. If the personreceiving the call cannot fully respond to the inquiry, the customer will becorrectly referred to someone who can. Wewill respond to all correspondence within ten (10) working days of receipt. Ifwe cannot provide a complete reply within ten (10) working days, we will contactthem as soon as possible within the ten (10) day period to acknowledge receiptand clarify their request, discuss what is required to provide a full response,and determine when they will receive a full response. We will provide our customers with clear, easy tounderstand, timely and accurate information about products, services, policiesand procedures. We will ensure that customers have easy access to information,available through convenient channels, and in various formats. hotels WienWe will seek customer input to make informed decisions on policies,programs and rules. We willundertake periodic surveys to find out what our customers think of our servicesand how we could make further improvements. GOALS Goal A:Italy Resorts (Licensing andEducation) To appropriately license all individuals in commercial andnoncommercial pest control and facilitate, through education, the highest levelof competence in pest control. Objective: License all eligible applicators, and continue toensure that technicians are licensed by 2005; improve the education standardsfor applicator; encourage licensed individuals to achieve the highest level ofdemonstrated competence of which they are capable; and ensure approvedcontinuing education courses meet minimum standards. LICENSING REQUIREMENTS/PROCEDURESAny Person, who engages in the structural pest controlbusiness, as defined by the Act, must possess a valid business license issued bythe Board. Each licensed businesslocation must employ a certified applicator that has passed a competency examadministered by the Board for each category of pest control work performed. Technicians who work under the direct supervision of a certifiedapplicator are required to obtain a specified number of verifiable classroom andon the job training hours for each category of work before they can be licensed. INSURANCE REQUIREMENTS An applicant for business license must file with the boarda policy or contract of insurance approved as sufficient by the board in anamount of not less than $200,000 bodily injury and property damage coverage witha minimum total aggregate of $300,000 for all occurrences, insuring him againstliability for damage to persons or property under his care, custody, or control. CONTINUING EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS The Board shall require as a condition to the renewal ofeach certified applicator license granted pursuant to the provisions of thissection, that the holder thereof certify to the Board that cover theapplicators categories of certification for the preceding twelve (12) months. This certification must be completed upon each annual renewal of thecertified applicators license. Failureto do so will prevent the license from being issued. Goal B: (Investigation and Enforcement) To ensure compliance with regulations andindustry standards for providing environmentally sound and effective pestcontrol. Objective: Continue toensure fair and efficient processing and resolution of complaints through 2005;inspect pest control businesses each biennium through 2005, encourage a betterrelationship with licensees and the citizens of Texas through enhancedcommunication; enhance voluntary compliance; and enforce laws and regulations inan impartial and efficient manner through 2005. COMPLAINTS hotels in AmsterdamThe Structural Pest Control Board will be legally andtechnically knowledgeable, courteous and professional, and will work to resolveissues as expeditiously as possible. Complaintsor request for field assistance will be provided in a timely manner, takingresources constraints and expertise into consideration. Where assistance cannot be provided by the agency, accurate referrals toother Federal, State or local agencies; private organizations; or educationalinstitutions will be provided as appropriate. Priorities are set for different types of complaints: Priority 1 complaints deal with imminent health orenvironmental hazards or problems with insurance requirements and require atelephone contact as soon as possible with a personal contact within 48 hrs. Priority 2 complaints deal with situations when possibleadverse effects to public health, environment, or property may develop,suspected fraud, and in cases when it is determined that the evidence may not beavailable for a long period. A telephone contact will be made within 48 hours orat least a contact within 10 working days. Priority 3 complaints are not identified as a serioushealth or environmental hazard. These will be investigated within 30 days of thedated the complaint is received. All cases will be finalized within 60 daysunless a specific reason for inability to do so is given. (The average time for complaint resolution is 60 days) FILING COMPLAINTS Complaints may be received, by fax, by email, or inwriting. Objective: Increasepublic access to information by making information available to interestedCitizens of Texas and noncommercial applicators through 2005; and by providinginformation concerning Integrated Pest Management to Texas public schools by2005. INTEGRATED PEST MANAGEMENT The agency has implemented an Integrated Pest ManagementProgram for all schools in the State of Texas. Integrated Pest Management is a system of considering all possiblestrategies to obtain control of an infestation, limiting the use of pesticides,choosing the least toxic pesticide to control the infestation. All schools weremandated to adopt a plan by September 1995. Thanks to the joint efforts of the Texas Association of School Boards,Texas Association of School Administrators, and the Texas Agricultural ExtensionService along with other interested and committed individuals, the StructuralPest Control Board has been able to provide a partnership to address the IPMmandate.
