Secure on-line ordering using SSL

When you use our on-line order form on our secure server, all data transfers between your computer and our server are encrypted using SSL (Secure Sockets Layer). You will know that the secure server is in use by the change from "http" to "https" in the URL at the top of your browser, and by the closed lock or key symbol.

Having trouble with Secure Server? (SSL)

If you are getting an alert window with a message telling you that the root certificate that issued this site cert has expired, or that the identity certificate has expired, this may be because you are using an older browser, or because of root site certification expiration.

By updating the certificate in your web browser, you will stop receiving these warning messages at this site and others that use Thawte certificates. The process only takes a couple of minutes. You may press the "CONTINUE" button in the warning window and still be able to access the secure pages in SSL mode, but you will continue to get the warning messages.

Updating your Web Browser's Certificate for Secure Server

Germany Hotels 1. In your Netscape browser, choose OPTIONS, the SECURITY PREFERENCES.

2. Select the "Site Certificates" tab. Find the entry marked "Thawte Server CA". Delete that certificate. Close that dialog box.

3. Now, point your browser at http://www.thawte.com/serverbasic.crt and accept the new root certificate. This certificate is identical to the last one, except that it is valid until 2020 and is the same as the certificate in Netscape Communicator 4.x.

If you are using Internet Explorer and still get a warning after updating your certificate, go to "Edit/Preferences" and select "Security" under Web Browser. Using the "view" button to check expiration dates, delete any Thawte certificates which have expired.
