Another successful weekend was had by the Kings, as they hosted the Fort St.John Flyers. The Kings winning both games, and that finishing up the leaguegames for this year. Now they will be concentrating on the playoffs.
Saturday evening thr Polar Kings won the game by a 4-3 margin. Kings first goalcame from defenseman Justin Hozack from Kurt Bensmiller. Then centerman KurtBensmiller from Greg Poulin was awarded the second of the night. Score 2-2 tiegoing into the 2nd period. Kurt Bensmiller was to get the only goal scored inthe 2nd with assists going to Kyle McBride and Chad
Marchand. In the 3rd period it was center man Chad Marchand giving the team thegame clincher, assisted by Brendyn Mayne.
Sunday morning saw the Kings come out and play a very physical game.(could bethey skipped breakfast, or they're just not morning people) Whatever it was, itseemed to work, as they downed Fort St. John by the score of 7-3. Greg Poulinwas to start the scoring off on a power play, assisted by Justin Hozack and KurtBensmiller. Fort St. John then scored one. Kings Kurt Bensmiller winning theface off, took control sending the puck past Flyers goaltender, putting theKings ahead again. Wainwright took total control in the 2nd period, racking up 4more goals. Goals going to : Greg Poulin from Darryl Lambert and Kurt Bensmiller.: Chad Marchand from Kurt Caron and Brendyn Mayne. : Derek Tymchyshyn fromDallas Mercier and Derek
Smale on a power play. : Darryl Lambert from Kurt Bensmiller and Greg Poulin.3rd period action saw Kurt Bensmiller give the Kings their 7th and last goal ofthe morning, assisted by Darryl Lambert. Fort St.John then put another one inthe net, but it just wasn't meant to be for them. Goaltender Brent Walker cameup big for the team this weekend. It was also good to see
Goaltender Dwayne Lingley back on the ice in the 3rd period of the Sunday game, after his battle with a severe flu bug. Hopefully we can have a full, healthyroster to go into the playoffs. The Kings have about 10 days before playoffsstart.

Wainwright Midget Polar Kings
Our first overnight road trip took us toFt. McMurray for 2 games. Saturday's game at 7:00pm ended in a 11-2 win for theKings. Greg Poulin getting 4 goals ; Kyle McBride with a Hat trick ; DarrylLambert getting a Hat trick on his first game out. The game seemed slower thenmost. The Kings drew first blood, with 3 goals in the first period. As the gameprogressed, it was obvious that the Polar Kings were going in for the kill, andwould stop at nothing. Ft. McMurray player's made it tough at times for theKings to keep their cool. But by showing their maturity, they made us proud withonly 16 mins. of penalties. Ft. McMurray had 32 penalty min. Sunday's game sawFt. McMurray come out strong, getting the first goal to start what was to be aninteresting game. The Fort scored 2 more early in the 2nd period, leaving theKings down 3-0. But as we all know, the Kings didn't take this laying down. Withthe 2nd period half over, the Kings battled back to tie the game 3-3. Thisdidn't settle well with the Ft. McMurray team, going into the 3rd with tempersflaring. Penalties were handed out on both sides. It was a battle that wasn'tmeant to be, as Ft. McMurray got the go ahead goal with 11:26 left in the game.Coaches Shelden Welch and Randy Huxley did an excellent job with the guys. TheKings will host Lloydminster Saturday at 5:30pm. We'd like to thank a few of theteam Sponsors: U.F.A. , Wainwright Paint'n Paper , Bear Paw Outfitting (PeaceRiver) Your support is greatly appreciated.
