alberghi a Jurmala:Paul, That is a good question. The blinding of membranes are caused by oil in your air supply, cleaning of membranes with solvent, and also can be damaged by contact with worn vacume heads, it is common that over time these membranes will need to be replaced. It is normal to get two to three years of life when care is taken in cleaning. The best way to clean is with a vacume. A true test to check the membrane is to turn on the air supply to the membrane and cover the membrane with about one inch of water. You will see uniform bubbles across the membrane if the plate is good. Let the membrane dry before returning to service. I hope this information will be of help.
regards, james
